The New Website
Welcome! If you’re familiar with our old site, a lot is different here. Most of the same pages exist, but they might not all be in the exact same spot. The navigation and look has had a major update. This post is meant to walk you through some of the features to help make you more comfortable navigating the new butchershill.org.
Right off, we’d like to be up front that not every page is finished. Some content needed updating to get the information current, and we had to prioritize which pages were first made available to the community. If a page isn’t complete, but you find it by clicking around, you’ll see this:
The Home Page
The home page, much like the old site, includes the latest information the community may need. After the introductory text block, you will find links to upcoming events and the latest “News from the Hill” the blog-style feed that is intended to be used for community-wide updates from the Association and its various committees.
At the top of the home page are links to the other main pages of the site:
About,
Events,
Living Here,
The BHA, and
Membership
As of this post, there is also a link to the Neighbor Engagement Survey for ease of access.
Membership
If you are interested in becoming a new member of the Association, or would like to renew your membership, the easiest way to do so is click wherever you see the words “Join the Community" which will take you to our page specifically dedicated to BHA Membership. There, you’ll have the option to join as a new member or renew. Either way, you’ll be asked to fill in a bit of information before being taken to PayPal to finish your transaction.
Donation
On the membership page, you will also be able to make a donation to the Butchers Hill Association. But a link can always be found in the website footer.
About Page Updates
One big change to the About page is that it now includes a section on the history of Butchers Hill. On the old website, you would find the history page linked under “Living Here.” However, we have moved it under About because we believe it is a better fit for the flow of the site. You can get to the “History of Butchers Hill” by clicking on the button within the About page, as shown below:
The BHA
New changes have also occurred on the dedicated page for the Butchers Hill Association. You will now be able to find a small bio on members of the Executive Committee, pictures may accompany a bio to help place a name to a face you will see around the neighborhood. The section for the officers looks like this:
The committees of the BHA also have their own dedicated pages, easily found below the link to meet the Executive Committee. Eventually, these pages may include some background as to what the committee does, any initiatives being highlighted by the committees, as well as meeting information. Currently, only meeting and contact information is available on these pages.
Newsletter
Some of our neighbors are already receiving a copy of our newsletter via email. If you’d like to as well, it’s even easier with a form always available within the footer of our site. Consider signing up to ensure you’re always receiving the latest information from the BHA!
And, that’s it!
Thanks so much for letting us give you a brief tour of the new website. Have fun exploring! And if you have any questions, issues, or even some photos to add to our galleries, feel free to contact us!
