Education – Tori Simms – We will be doing adopt-a-teacher a little different this year. Instead of each person picking a teacher to buy for, we will be asking for donations. We will purchase a gift certificate for each school at the store of their choice.
Green Committee – Butch Mount – The bags are for sale - $1.50 each. Reminder to join the list serve – it is full of useful information, and is an open easy forum.
Crime Prevention – Carolyn Boitnott – The meeting will be a held at a different time – next week, May 14th. Everyone will join the COP people to walk around the neighborhood.
Several weeks ago some kids had been arrested for drug dealing on the corner of Fairmount and Chester. Unfortunately, the kids seem to be back. Be sure to call 911 if you witness any drug activity.
Mural Committee – Remington Nevin – The winners of the nominating committee were announced. They have each won a gift certificate from Life of Reilly’s. Those that they nominated will be incorporated into the mural for Castle St. Park. So far they have raised $1,500 towards the total required.
Other Business – Barry Glassman – Two there two expenditures on last year’s budget that did not carry over into this year’s budget. First, $455 for trees on the 100 block of Castle. This was a grant from Banner. And, second, $780 for Halcott Square/Duncan St. Park. There was a $1,500 gift from Parks & People, and $2,280 was the amount needed. Therefore, $780 is still needed from this year’s budget. Motion: to approve these additions to the budget. Seconded. Passed unanimously.
